Introducing the OccasionWise Facebook application
Work has begun integrating the OccasionWise website with Facebook.
A lot of work still has to be done on the core code of the web site but even so, allowing Facebook users to access the OccasionWise database seems like a good idea and is fairly simple to implement.
Users will eventually be able to select the types of occasions/events/observances they want displayed publicly on their profile page so there is no need for friends to add the application to view it. In fact, we promise not to force you to invite anyone but if you would like to invite your friends, there is a page you can select to do so (Exceeding standards from within Facebook’s documentation on Platform Policy Overview: What Applications Cannot Do).
Friends birthdays will also eventually be included on the calendar within the users profile page and will not be harvested and stored on the OccasionWise Servers (As according to Facebook’s documentation on Storable Information).
The OccasionWise Facebook application will also work nicely when added to other pages giving groups of users access to the OccasionWise database of occasions/events/observances.
On a final note, you do not need to be a member of Facebook to view the OccasionWise Application and OccasionWise About pages.
